A mobile attempt at the 3rd Playtime horror

Deep Sleep PLAYTIME CHAPTER 3 is a free adventure experience from STUDIO LTD, aiming to port the highly anticipated third entry to the Poppy Playtime series to mobile devices. Retaining the original’s survival-horror and puzzle-solving elements, it also continues where the original left off, although it doesn’t see the rest of the story fleshed out.

Aside from the wonky controls and the limited content, Deep Sleep PLAYTIME CHAPTER 3 is a fun game. It feels like a demo version of the original game, and good for a quick scare. Also try Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 - Unofficial for more Playtime horror.

A limited effort on Chapter 3

Deep Sleep PLAYTIME CHAPTER 3's direct continuation of the previous chapter makes it immediately compelling. The player rides the train that descends more inside Playtime Co. after the conclusion of Chapter 2. This is where the third game picks off, with the player finding himself in what appears to be an orphanage, right under the toy factory. This sets the mood for a darker story and scarier gameplay.

As a faithful mobile port, it raises the stakes by including a wider range of jumpscares and chases in addition to the customary animatronic monsters pursuing you. It also has echoes, loud screams, and frightening symbols everywhere. As previously stated, there's a ton of fresh content. In addition to the new, bigger area, you have fresh upgrades in your GrabPack, and a new major monster is pursuing you.

Although the game is meant to be a sequel, beginners would be best off starting from the beginning. If you were to start playing this game right away, you would miss out on the Easter eggs, references, and plot. More importantly, it feels massively incomplete. The game cuts off midway, and the last available parts start to get buggy. Additionally, the controls are wonky, making it hard to outrun monsters.

An incomplete mobile rework

With the hype generated by the original Poppy Playtime franchise, Deep Sleep PLAYTIME CHAPTER 3 serves as a promising mobile experience for players to bring the iconic survival and horror game on the go. While it is an incomplete game, with the latter parts still unavailable plus the poor and wonky controls all around, it still warrants a test run for fans of the franchise.
